STOCKTON, Calif. - Sophomore Tyler Raber captured his first collegiate tournament on Wednesday as the UC Davis men's golf team rallied to overtake 22nd-ranked Oregon and win the Stockton Sports Commission Pacific Invitational at Brookside Country Club.

The Aggies shot a final-round 286, finishing 20 shots below par for the week at the par-71, 6,757-yard course. Oregon, which led UC Davis by a shot entering Wednesday, slipped to third in the final standings, two shots behind the Aggies and one back of runner-up BYU which shot 275 and finished at 18-under. Fresno State was a distant fourth, 10 shots behind champion UC Davis.

"This win shows what we can do," said coach Cy Williams. "It was a very strong field and will help our ranking. From a confidence standpoint, it shows our young team what they're capable of doing. It was one of the most exciting wins we've ever had."

Raber, who had a school-record 63 on Tuesday, finished with a 72 on Wednesday to post a school-record 54-hole total of 199. His score beat the previous record of 204 held by Erik Hill in 2005 and current teammate Austin Graham who posted his at last spring's Wyoming Cowboy Classic.

Raber, from Davis High School, finished 14 shots below par, carding a four-shot win over Eugene Wong of Oregon who had a 73 in the last round. Brady Johnson (-9) and Mitchell Gregson (-8) of Kansas State took the next two spots. Raber was joined in the top 10 by Graham who tied for eighth at 4-under 209. Graham shot 74 in the last round.
