HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth sophomore Heather Roland finished among the top 10 golfers at the completion of the first round of the Dartmouth Invitational at the Hanover Country Club on Saturday, leading the Big Green to a tie for sixth on the day with a 323. Roland shot a seven-over par 77 (38-39) in the round to pace the squad and tie for ninth individually.

Dartmouth had two of the five golfers that scored an eagle in the round, with Roland posting one and freshman Julie Campbell — who is playing as an individual — scoring the other.

Another Big Green individual entry, freshman Colleen Carroll, scored three birdies. Only three other golfers in the 20-team tournament had four on the day.

Towson leads the field with a 311, with Fairfield just three strokes back and Brown four. Three golfers are tied for individual top honors at 75 — Fairfield’s Kristen MacDonald, Hartford’s Sarah Sideranko and Boston College’s Eunice Kim.

The tournament will finish up tomorrow with the first group teeing off at 7:50 a.m.
