The Missouri State women's golf team took home the first-place trophy at the Hawkeye Invitational. The Bear's score of 914 was four strokes better than second-place University of Illinois. Also in the field was 33rd-ranked Iowa State, who finished third with 924. On the individual leader board, sophomore Catherine Dolan and freshman Hermine Greyling lead the Bears with 11 over par, good enough to tie for fourth on the leader board.
The Bears were in command the whole tournament. Missouri State's first (298) and third (296) rounds were the only sub 300-shot rounds for any team in the entire tournament. In the first round, Dolan and Greyling were two of only three golfers to hit par in a given round the entire tournament.
The Bears return to action on Oct. 26 to complete their fall season in Fort Meyers, Fla. in the FIU/Pat Bradley Invitational. Tee time is set for 7 a.m. and the tournament is expected to conclude on Oct. 27.
